Cassio's Italian Restaurant
Anna and Mike prepare real Italian cuisine to order from old family recipes at this friendly and casual restaurant. Dishes are prepared from fresh ingredients and Alberta products are used wherever possible. Special requests are welcome, and gluten-free pasta and vegetarian choices are available. Windowside tables offer a view of Jasper's heritage train station framed by mountains and counter seats line the mid restaurant bar. Wines are offered by the 250ml quartino (sample two or three selections), half litre and bottle from a select menu. Reservations are not required.
- Breakfast: eggs Benny; smoked salmon bagel; steak and eggs; trekkers sundae; omelets; wraps; flap jacks
- Antipasto: bruschetta; mussels; crab cakes; smoked salmon carpaccio; antipasto plate; grilled garlic shrimp
- Flatbreads: fig, pear and gorgonzola; pesto, artichoke and peppers; spicy Italian sausage and tomato
- Cassios Burger: with provolone, back bacon, and sautéed onions, peppers and mushrooms
- Thin Crust Pizzas: Margarita; vegetarian; pepperoni; BBQ chicken; estiva with tomato sauce prosciutto, fior di latte mozzarella, arugula, lemon and olive oil
- Pasta: linguine pescatore; butternut squash ravioli; cannelloni; gnocchi; fettuccine Alfredo; puttanesca
- Risotto: shrimp and asparagus or mushroom and Italian sausage, finished with grano padano cheese
- Veal: with mushrooms and Marsala cream sauce
- Chicken Parmigianna: tomato sauce and mozzarella
- Salmon: with roasted sweet peppers and capers
- Ciopino: shrimp, mussels, clams, squid and fish in saffron clam broth with wine, tomatoes and lemon
- AAA Sirloin Steak: sautéed mushrooms and gnocchi
- Desserts: tiramisu; affogato (espresso sundae); molten lava cake with fudge and raspberry coulais
